1976 ) is aJapan ese video game programmer. He began his career withWolfteam , initially assisting with the programming ofNeugier for theSuper Famicom in 1993; he was 17 years old at the time. He followed this project with in 1994.After this, Gotanda wrote an unpublished novel called "Tale Phantasia", which he then turned into the game
Tales of Phantasia . This game was financed, produced and published byNamco , but developed by members of Wolfteam.During the production of Tales of Phantasia, Gotanda had many debates over the marketing and branding of the game with Namco, particularly debates over the name and characters that led to the game being delayed for over a year. During these delays, he quit and co-founded
tri-Ace withMasaki Norimoto andJoe Asanuma . tri-Ace's first game was , which he wrote and programmed.Today he is the president of tri-Ace and the manager of the research and development division.
