Shahdeo

Shahdeo is the surname of the Nagvanshi rajputs of the chotanagpur region of Jharkhand. The Nagvanshi dynasty established their supremacy in the Chhotanagpur region in the 2nd century. It is known for its contributions to the social and political transformations in the region. Their history dates back to more than 3,000 years.

Chintamani Sharan Nath Shahdeo is the last king of the dynasty and lives in Ratu palace. His son Gopal Sharan Nath Shahdeo is a member of the legislative Assembly and was elected from Hatia.
