The Beulah Speckled Face is a
breed ofdomestic sheep originating inUnited Kingdom . Having been bred inWales for more than a hundred years, a breed society was officially formed in 1958. Most common inEppynt ,Llanafan ,Abergwesyn andLlanwrtyd Wells , it is named for its distinctly patterned black and white face, which is free from wool. Ewes, which are naturallypolled , are often crossed withlowland rams such as the Suffolk,Texel orBluefaced Leicester to breed mules, and to produce market lambs for meat. Average Beulah Speckled Face ewes weigh 52 kilos (115 pounds), and rams 86 kilos (190 pounds).References
