- Jules Aimé Battandier
Jules Aimé Battandier (January 28, 1848 - September 18, 1922) was a French
botanist who was a native ofAnnonay , department ofArdèche . He was an authority on Algerian flora.In 1875 he became head of the
pharmacy at Hôpital Mustapha, and in 1879 was a professor to the faculty of medicine and pharmacy inAlgiers . He has several botanical species named after him, including "Cytisus battandieri", commonly known as the Moroccan broom.Selected publications
