- Kalle Randalu
Kalle Randalu (born in
Tallinn , November 25 1956) is aEstonia n pianist.He was trained at the
Moscow Conservatory underLev Vlasenko . In 1981-82 Randalu shared the VII Tchaikovsky Competition's 4th prize and the VIII Schumann Competition's 3rd prize with, respectively, Dmitri Gaiduk andBalázs Szokolay . He subsequently won the 1985 ARD Competition in Munich, and settled in Germany in 1988. He is a professor at the Musikhochshcule Karlsruhe and a honorary doctor of theEstonian Academy of Music and Theatre .Randalu has performed internationally. He has took part in recordings of
Carl Reinecke ,Zdeněk Fibich ,Gabriel Fauré ,Charles Koechlin ,André Caplet ,Béla Bartók ,Erwin Schulhoff ,Gideon Klein ,Paul Hindemith andPēteris Vasks ' chamber music. In addition, he has recorded Raimo Kangro's 2nd piano concerto andLepo Sumera 's Piano Concerto.References
