Biorepository

A Biorepository is a biological materials repository that collects, processes, stores, and distributes biospecimens to support future scientific investigation [ISBER Newsletter Volume No.1, Issue No. 1] -- () 19:09, 10 October 2008 (UTC). Biorepositories can contain or manage specimens from animals, including humans, and many other living organisms. Vertabrates, invertabrates, arthropods, and other lifeforms are just a few of the many classes of living organisms which can be studied by preserving and storing samples taken

Operations

The four main operations of a Biorepository are;(i)collection or accession, (ii) processing, (iii) storage or inventory, and (iv) distribution or output of biological specimens.
