Crypta

Crypta was the first Thrash Metal band from Puerto Rico. Formed in 1992 by Xammy Santiago (vocals, guitars), Roymi (guitars), Pedro (drums) and Cesar Rivera(bass). Influenced by modern bands like Metallica and Sepultura.

They was signed by Brutal Noise Records in 1993 resulting in two classics recordings Join The Madness (1993) and the "never-released" Violently Dead-icated (1995). Both albums were produced by Crypta and MetalKid. In 1993,a national tour with christian act Deathless supporting their Join The Madness Tour was launched.

In 1994 the band was the opening band for Sepultura at the Juan Ramon Loubriel Stadium in Bayamon, PR. Soon after Xammy relocate to Boston due to family issues and the band was in hiatus until they call their quits.
