Balmyard Djew is a Filipino reggae band from Ozamiz, Philippines. In 2007, with heavy influence from Bob Marley, Seeed, Oshen and local reggae acts like Enchi, BMR and Junior Kilat, this young band brings new breed of reggae music. Even though they are not geniuses in their own instruments, but the crew of Balmyard Djew creates a different and unique brand of reggae.

History

Two schoolmates at Misamis University, Bj and Marcuz formed the band 10th of September 2007. With 4 founding members (Taho, Griffith, Bj and Marcuz) and a borrowed drummer (Remi of Grass4Hire), the band continued the legacy of reggae wednesday and played some events like Jamrock 2007 and Oktoberfest 07. Now a much more cohesive line-up, the band have played throughout the province of Misamis Occidental, part of Lanao del Norte and Zamboanga del Sur and Iligan City, and have shared stage with Enchi and Junior Kilat who were the pilars of reggae in central and southern Philippines and of bisrock giant Aggressive Audio.

The band right now is in the process of making their own music and hopefully solidifying their sound.
