- Chicagoland Mystery Players
-
Chicagoland Mystery Players was a TV series first shown in Chicago starting 1947, then picked up nationally by the DuMont Television Network and first aired on the network 18 September 1949. The network aired the show on Sundays at 8pm EST. It was one of several DuMont series that originally aired in a local TV market before being picked up nationally. Each live episode was 30 minutes long.
DuMont dropped the program during 1950, and it's unknown if it continued in Chicago for any time. The DuMont Network itself ceased broadcasting in 1956.
When the series aired in Chicago viewers were not given the solution to the crime, instead they were told to pick up the next days Chicago Tribune to find out.
