Shab-e-Malwa

Shab-e-Malwa

The dusk time of Malwa region of Madhya Pradesh, India is referred to as "Shab-e-Malwa". Due to its altitude of about 550 to 600 meters above mean sea level (MSL), the region has comparatively cool evenings against the hot days during the summer season. Even if the day temperature reaches 42 to 43 degrees Celsius, the night temperatures are always in range of 20 to 22 degrees making the climate much much cooler than the other areas of the region.

Etymology

Shab is an Urdu word meaning night. Shab-e-Malwa thus means "night(s) of Malwa". The term is known to be introduced and made famous by the Mughals.
