Christian Rock group got their name from thebible . "Scarlet Fade" is inspired by the verse Isaiah 1:18 "though your sins are as scarlet, they shall be white as snow".Influences
The band has been quoted that they have a wide range of influences, including rock bands like
Lifehouse , classic bands like theBeatles , and christian rock groups likeSanctus Real . Other influences includeSwitchfoot ,NeedtoBreathe ,The Elms ,Falling Up ,Eisley ,Acceptance ,The Monkees ,Everyday Sunday ,Leeland ,Seven Places ,Hawk Nelson , andEmery .One of the larger influences to the band is Flyleaf; Scarlet Fade arguably sounds most like Flyleaf than any of their other influences.

Ali, Jordan , and Jaimee started singing to backing tracks at the ages of 4, 6, and 8. Jaimee and Ali began to play the piano, and Jordan started on guitar. Soon after, Jake started on drums, and Ali joined in on bass. When it comes to songwriting, they are quoted as saying, "the songs that we write comes from personal experiences."
In July of 2006,
Ellio's Pizza held the Ellio's Rock Star Challenge online to " [catapult] teen bands from local garages to a national stage with listeners and DJs in top music markets..." said Susan Pilcher, Ellio's brand manager. The contest narrowed down to five bands, including The Mystery Tramps, Stereo Skyline, The Rising Sons, Capitol Risk, and Scarlet Fade. In the end, Scarlet Fade was hand picked byFlyleaf 's Lacey Mosley (lead singer). Mosley was quoted as saying, "There is something in the combination of the members of Scarlet Fade that pulls your heart into the song. As artists we want more than just to entertain, we want to inspire - and this band is making that kind of art."Scarlet Fade won a three-day recording session for winning the contest, which ended on January 31st, 2007. They recieved over 53,000 votes, which led them to victory.
