- Brian Schodorf
Brian W. Schodorf is an American television and documentary film producer.
Originally from Wichita, Kansas, Schodorf relocated to Chicago, Illinois in 2003. He graduated from Columbia College Chicago, earning a B.A. in Television Directing in 2006 and an M.A.M. in Media Management in 2008.
Schodorf's documentaries focus on social and political issues. He directed a documentary called "Poverty in Chicago" in 2006 for Public Television. It was about the homeless men and women in Chicago, some were addicted to a deadly heroin that eventually killed several hundred people in inner city Chicago. His film has drawn comparisons to longtime Chicago anchor Walter Jacobson who also did an investigation on Chicago's homeless.
His latest work, "Greensburg", is the story of the destruction and rebuilding of a town hit by what may be seen as one of the worst tornados in American history. The tornado packed winds of over 200-miles-per-hour and destroyed
Greensburg, Kansas . Ninety-five percent of the city was shattered, and the other five percent severely damaged. Schodorf’s exploration with Kansas residents shows the transformation of Greensburg from disaster area to a "green" city that relies on alternative energy to meet most of its power generating needs.Links
