Dahili Network

The Dahili Network is a wide area network in Turkey, positioned as the world's first metro ethernet project (since 2001)

It is intended to the world's biggest Local Area Network (LAN), and its promoters intend the project to displace the term wide area network from dictionaries.
Ethernet was originally developed by Xerox to connect Personal Computer and Printers.After Xerox found Ethernet device between Ethernet never become this mutch popular all over the world.Basicaly Dahili Network designs wide area networks as if they were local area networks, whether they use satellites or not.

In 2005 Vodaphone Telecom acquired Turkish Telsim Telecom.

History

Oguz Ersoz, the Founder of project, was born in Tekirdag and grew up in Istanbul. He lived in the United Kingdom for 14 years, and worked with Sazak Group of companies and later with the Rumeli Group of companies. He told both two group owners that one day data communications would be an important business.

The project's original name was InfOcean (Information Ocean). but when project planed by Oguz Ersoz for Rumeli Group, time was June 2000.

But time was too early for first Metro Ethernet project announced to others, and antagonized other companies.

Other similar companies, especially Turkish Telecom, weren't convinced yet, perhaps because it was still a government-owned corporation.

At first Dahili Network's project and all sub-projects were blocked by the Turkish government because of Turkish Telecom's opposition.

After six years other companies made new investments on the same project and project become more and more popular.
