Iran-Saudi Arabia relations

Iran-Saudi Arabia relations

Saudi-Iranian relations are the relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia broke diplomatic relations with Iran in 1988 after more than 400 people, mostly Iranians making the haj, or Muslim religious pilgrimage, were killed in Mecca in clashes with Saudi security forces. Relations between the two countries were restored in 1991. [ [http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9D0CE6DF133FF93BA25750C0A967958260 Saudi-Iranian Relations Are Being Restored] ]
