Bavil

Bavil (French: "Baville") is a village outside the metropolitan of Tabriz, Iran, in the East Azerbaijan province. The village itself is officially divided into a north and a south part named Olya and Sofla, respectively (meaning quite simply North and South in Farsi).

Language

The predominant language in the city is Azerbaijani, a Turkic language, altough almost all inhabitants of the city also can speak and understand Persian as well.
