It was composed of five musicians : Lucien Crémadès (guitar, vocals), Alain Llorca (bass, vocals), Bernard Mazauric (keyboards), Stephen Salvador (drums) and the lead singer who also played the rhythmic guitar, Emile Wandelmer.
In 1985, the band bacame famous with their first big hit "Plus près des étoiles". Thereafter, it had other several successes with "
Capitaine abandonné ", "Ville de lumière" or "Laissez-nous chanter". Gold was famous until 1990 when the lead singer left the group following a disagreement. He joined the group Images in 1998. After the departure of Emile Wandelmer, even if the group was not very successful on the charts, the latter continued to record some albums and singles.Gold is one of the few French groups to have five singles in the top ten on the French
