Gold is a French music band from Toulouse, founded in the 1980s. It was very successful in France since 1985.

History

It was composed of five musicians : Lucien Crémadès (guitar, vocals), Alain Llorca (bass, vocals), Bernard Mazauric (keyboards), Stephen Salvador (drums) and the lead singer who also played the rhythmic guitar, Emile Wandelmer.

In 1985, the band bacame famous with their first big hit "Plus près des étoiles". Thereafter, it had other several successes with "Capitaine abandonné", "Ville de lumière" or "Laissez-nous chanter". Gold was famous until 1990 when the lead singer left the group following a disagreement. He joined the group Images in 1998. After the departure of Emile Wandelmer, even if the group was not very successful on the charts, the latter continued to record some albums and singles.

Awards

In November 1986, the band was awarded "Best revelation of the variety" by the whole professional people of the Victoires de la musique.
