Judith M. Runstad

Judith M. Runstad is of counsel for Foster Pepper PLLC and a director of Wells Fargo & Company.

Runstad received a BS degree from the University of Idaho in 1966, an MS degree from the same university in 1967, and a JD degree from the University of Washington in 1974. A member of the Washington State Bar Association since 1974, she commenced the practice of business law with specialization in the areas of real estate development and land use and environmental law. From 1978 to 1998 she was a member of Foster Pepper PLLC, a Northwest regional law firm; since 1998 she has been of counsel for Foster Pepper.

She is a member of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers, and since the mid-1980s she has been included in "Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who in American Women", and "Best Lawyers in America".

A past chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, Runstad is a director of Safeco (since 1990), Wells Fargo & Company (since 1998), and Potlatch Corporation (since 1999). In civic affairs she is a board member of the Greater Seattle Chamber of Commerce(past chairman), Downtown Seattle Association (past president), Alliance for Education, and the Seattle Foundation Board. She is a past chairman of the King County United Way Campaign.

In the political realm, Runstad has been a member of Bush-Cheney 2000 and Obama for America. She has served on several gubernatorial commissions, including Governor Locke's Competitiveness Council (as co-chair), the Governor's High Speed Ground Transportation Commission, and the Governor's Washington State Growth Strategies Commission; currently, she is co-chair of Governor Gregoire's Washington Global Competitiveness Council.
