Baikida Carroll

Baikida Carroll (b. January 15, 1947, St. Louis, Missouri) is an American jazz trumpeter.

Carroll studied at Southern Illinois University and at the Armed Forces School of Music early in his career. Following this he became a member of the Black Artists Group in St. Louis, where he directed their free jazz ensemble. This group recorded in Europe in the 1970s. In the 1970s and 1980s he worked with musicians such as Oliver Lake, Michael Gregory Jackson, Muhal Richard Abrams, Jack DeJohnette, and David Murray, in addition to recording under his own name.
