Mark Wardale

Mark Wardale is the former drummer and co-writer of the band "Some Are Saints". Mark is a songwriter and runs an independent label called Mr Mackleberry Music.

Influences

Born in 1984 in Kingston Upon Hull England, he was brought up surrounded by music and used to watch his farther Keith Wardale rehearse in many bands through-out his childhood. Influenced by many different styles and bands from his farther such as Led Zeppelin, Talking Heads, Genesis and YES, whilst sharing a room with his older brother David he would sit and listen to bands like Manic Street Preachers, The Corrs and No Doubt. His brother was a big influence in Mark turning to the drums.

Early Music

Mark's First band was "Big Fat Mouse", formed whilst in college (2000). One member and good friend, Roberto Rodriguez (lead guitar) would again play a big influence on what Mark was listening to when he introduced him to Ska-Punk. Mark was amazed by bands such as Less Than Jake, Sublime, Mad Caddies, Jesse James and Save Ferris. During college, Mark joined another band called "Psychedelic Haze". This is were Mark met Karl Grady who would later join him to become the lead guitarist of "Some Are Saints".

Some Are Saints

After a few years away from music, late in 2003, Mark began writing songs and decided to form his own original rock band. A childhood school friend Christopher Beale was moving back to Hull from Plymouth in 2004 so Mark continued to write tracks until he moved back. Chris played the bass so they both got together and wrote "Nicotine Girl". In 2004 they formed "Some Are Saints", which lasted 4 years, releasing an album entitled "Ginger Face" in 2005 and two singles from the album called "Changing" and "Break This Ice" in 2006. Mark and lead singer Thomas Mulchinock both had there first taste of music production when mixing the album together. Thomas Left the band late 2006, and after two years of changing line-up's, Some Are Saints finally disbanded in 2008.

Life After SAS

A year before Some Are Saints split, Mark set up an independent label called "Mr.Mackleberry Music". Mark began work on a solo project in January 2008. A mix of alt rock/metal and synth, 26 tracks were written and 14 ended up on the album. Mark is due to release his first solo album since "SAS" disbanded, entitled "him YOU& her" on 3rd November 2008. The track "Walking Back To Back" is also being released on the 3rd November as a double single with the album track "her".
Mark and Thomas Mulchinock still collaborate and are understood to have a strong friendship and working relationship which has led to reports that they are currently in talks regarding a new project in 2009 through Mr.Mackleberry Music. Yet no official comment has been released as Thomas Mulchinock is also preparing to announce his own solo album release in late 2008, which mark is helping to co-produce with him.
