Suzanna Lidegran is a Graduated violinist by the Royal Music Conservatory of Denmark (DKDM), Copenhagen. Master in Musical Education by the Psychology and Education Science Faculty of Porto University. Born in Ödeshög, Sweden, started her musical education at five years of age, learning violin, piano, and later organ. Studied violin with her private teacher Sven Karpe, disciple of Karl Flesch e teacher at the Music High School of Stockholm (ESME). There she completed her higher studies, with Josef Grünfarb (1984-85), and at the DKDM, with Milan Vitek, violin, and Hanne Mulvad, piano (1986-1992). Participated in countless Master Classes, from which stand out the ones with Sven Karpe, Liana Issakadze and Igor Ozim (violin), Leo Berlin, Gerd Crawford, Kurt Lewin, Amalie Malling, José Ribera, Sven Karpe, Björn Sjögren, Gotlands-Kvartetten e Fresk-Kvartetten (chamber music); Karlheinz Stockhausen (orchestra); and Emmanuel Nunes (composition). Performed as soloist with several orchestras in Sweden and Denmark, including in an homage concert to the Queen of Denmark. She has performed in several recitals and chamber concerts as violinist, pianist and/or organist in Portugal, Germany, Finland, England, Norway and Switzerland. Regularly performs in recitals and chamber concerts in her home country, during the summer season. In 1984 she creates e conducts, for two years, the Chamber Orchestra Ungdomsorkestern-84 (Nörrköping, Sweden). Between 1986 and 1989 worked with several Swedish and Danish orchestras, specially with SNYKO (Stockholms Nya Kammarorkester), in the season which was conducted by Esa Pekka Salonen. In 1989 she comes to Portugal, to work with the recent Porto Orchestra - Régie Cooperativa Sinfonia. Has performed in recitals and concerts with several chamber music formations in Portugal. Since 1997 she is a member of the modern music "ensemble" Grupo Música Nova, conducted by the composer Cândido Lima, for which she has performed several national and world premieres of several works for solo violin, among others. She stands out her participation in the concert "Timor Lorosae and the Hope in the Peace Journey", with the work dedicated to her by Cândido Lima, "Oi in lov", which was live recorded to a CD edited by the association Humanus - Associação Humanidades. In Portugal, besides performing in concerts and recitals, she has developed an intense artistic and pedagogic activity in violin teaching, which, currently, is limited to the Artave - Escola Profissional Artística do Vale do Ave, and to the Porto Music Conservatory.
