- Sepilok Orang Utan Sanctuary
Sepilok Orang-utan Rehabilitation Centre is located about 25 kilometers west of
Sandakan , in easternMalaysia on the island ofBorneo in the state ofSabah . It was started in1964 for rescue and rehabilitation of orphaned babyorangutan s from logging sites, plantations, and illegal hunting. The orphaned orang-utans are trained to survive again in the wild and are released as soon as ready.
