Thryon

Thryon (Ancient Greek: Θρύον) or Thryoessa (Θρυόεσσα) or Alpheus Poros (Αλφειού Πόρος) was an ancient city in Elis, the present-day Ilia prefecture.

Homer received when the Trojan War took place together with most of the Eleans [Homer "Iliad" Rhapsody II p 592"] and was founded next to the Alpheus river (now Alfeios), Strabo visited with the ancient city of Epitalium without being correct [Strabo "Book VIII"] [Strabo "Book VIII"]

Rubbles of the ancient city survives near Agoulinitsa (now Epitalio) in Ilia,
