- Rao Mohammad Hashim Khan
Rao Mohammad Hashim Khan is one of the oldest and senior members of the Pakistan People's Party. Having been in the party since 1970. He contested in the 1970 elections and was victorious in that.In 1988 on Benazir Bhutto's advice he did not take part in the elections but was nominated Chairman Land Comission. In 1993 he again emerged victorious and was elected Chairman Public Accounts Comittee. After that he lost in the 1997 elections. In the 2002 elections a rift was created between him and his two oldest sons Rao Naseem Hashim and Rao Naeem Hashim due to the fact that Rao Naseem was contesting in the elections against other members of the PPP which was not acceptable to Rao Hashim. After the 2002 elections he retired from active politics and was succeeded by his son Rao Jamil Mohammad Hashim as the President PPP Pakpattan District.Rao Mohammad Hashim Khan was educated in Government College Lahore as well as Aligarh University from where he gained his degree in law
