The Sophia Centre

The [http://www.lamp.ac.uk/sophia Sophia Centre for the Study of Cosmology in Culture] is based in the [http://www.lamp.ac.uk/archanth Archaeology and Anthropology Department] at the [http://www.lamp.ac.uk University of Wales, Lampeter] . The Centre's remit is to study all aspects of the relationship between astronomy, astrology and cosmology, and culture. Its approach draws on philosophy, history, anthropology and sociology. The Centre supervises PhD students and teaches the distance-learning [http://www.lamp.ac.uk/sophia/ma.html MA in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology] . The Centre was launched at Bath Spa University in 2002 and transferred to Lampeter in 2007 under the current director Nicholas Campion.
