Lainya

Lainya is a county on the Yei Juba road in the Central Equatoria State of Southern Sudan. It is one of the counties that has been affected by the civic war between Sudanese People's Liberation Army/Movement Sudanese People's Liberation Army/Movement (SPLA) and the National Congress Party (NCP) of the Sudanese government. Lainya has been bombed by planes and others auto bombs which were fired by the Sudanese government against the SPLA/M rebels during the war.The county of lainya is located at the central region of Pojulu and it is one of place where travllers from Yei to Juba and Juba to Yei are likely to have their breakfast,because it has been located betwwen Yei and Juba and it is the only area with high level of development on the Yei Juba road,also the commissioner of lainya county Mr Viencent Kujo is working hard with the local administrators to improve the infrastructures and the development in Lainya county.

Development

Lainya county has been affected by a huge devastation during the 21 years of civil war, which made it hard to develope as the result the education in the region has been very hard,children are studing under trees shade which actually shows that this region has been distoryed, many teaks in the African largest teak plantation (Loka) has been distoryed by guns and even deforstation has been carried out illegally, due to the lack of control when the region was under SPLA/M rebels and Sudanese soldiers it makes it hard for the local Chief to have control on his region.
