Design
Although miRoamer is commonly known as a web-based internet radio/audio search engine, aggregator and player, it also plays a very important role as an online gateway to all iRoamer powered devices. miRoamer allows any user with a iRoamer powered device such as miMedia’s inFusion portable internet radio/audio player to access and configure his/her unique preferences online and this is seamlessly communicated with the iRoamer enabled device every time the device logs-in to the iRoamer server via a wireless or wired connection. miRoamer therefore, makes navigating, selecting, accessing and sharing of its vast catalogue of digital media streams easy. To put it simply if miRoamer is the gateway, interface or portal, iRoamer is the core technology powering and supplying the media content and technologies needed for it to work.
miRoamer is also highly flexible in its design structure to allow high levels of customisation and is able to restrict or limit services to specific units which are powered by iRoamer. This allows specific content to be accessible (or restricted) for unique business looking to incorporate iRoamer technology into their products for example, sports only, religious only, adult restricted content and paid premium services to name a few.
History and Future
When miRoamer first debuted at the world’s largest consumer electronics trade fair, CES in Las Vegas in January 2005, it beat many other companies and their products to win the coveted nomination for ‘Best of Show’ award.
miRoamer is currently anticipating a major change of miRoamer in early to mid 2009 and looking towards incorporating IPTV, Photo Browsing, Podcasts and other new and exciting media content together with its already world leading internet radio/audio stations. This will allow for miRoamer to be a substantial leader in providing a wide range of online media content to the masses.
