Minkənd (also, Minkend – _az. Minkənd; and Hak – _hy. Հակ) is a Kurdish [ [http://azerbaijanfoundation.org/cgi-bin/e-cms/vis/vis.pl?s=001&p=0114&n=000535&prev=yes Voice of Karabakh] ] village in Lachin district of Azerbaijan. Geography

The village is located at the west side of Hakari River and in the north part of the Lachin district, 320 km from Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan Republic.

History

Hak village had been first mentioned by Stepanos Orbelian in the thirteenth century. Prior to 1918, Minkend was a mixt village inhabited by Kurds and Armenians. In 1905, during the Armenian-Tatar massacres 1905-1907, 198 of its 696 armenian villagers were killed and 42 were taken hostages.
