During his career, from 1996 until 2001, he mostly played Futures tournaments and a couple of Challengers. During his career he tried to qualify for a couple of tournaments on ATP Tour, and in 1998, for the
Australian Open , but with no success.His career highest ranking was 1322 (August 6, 2001) in singles, and 632 (November 5, 2001) in doubles; Ančić also won one tournament in singles, and one with his younger brother, Mario. His total career prize money is $10,208.
