The station was located on a branch of the
Merthyr, Tredegar and Abergavenny Railway , which was taken over for financial reasons by theLondon and North Western Railway . Therefore it became part of theLondon, Midland and Scottish Railway during the Grouping of 1923. Passing on to theWestern Region of British Railways onnationalisation in 1948, it was then closed by theBritish Transport Commission .References
