Frank Johns

Frank Tetes Johns (February 23, 1889 - May 20, 1928) was a carpenter and American politician who was twice nominated for President of the United States by the Socialist Labor Party in 1924 and 1928. He was the youngest man ever to be nominated by a political party to run for President. Johns was the minimum age to run, 35, at the time of his first nomination. Johns and running mate Verne L. Reynolds received 28,633 votes, 0.10% of the total. Shortly after his second nomination, Johns attempted to rescue a youth from drowning. His attempt was unsuccessful and both he and the young boy died. Johns was only 39. The SLP replaced him with his running mate Verne L. Reynolds.
