Cotton House, Marlborough College

Cotton House, Marlborough College

Cotton House was founded in the late 19th century and is one of the four mixed houses at Marlborough College, a British public school in Wiltshire.

Ten minutes' walk from Court (the central quad of Marlborough College), Cotton is named after George Edward Lynch Cotton(1852-1858), Headmaster of the College. Built in 1875, it retains much of the original wood panelling of the time but with extensive modernisation, the panels on the walls date back to the 19th century and include such alumni as the famous poet Siegfried Sassoon. Being the most western house, Cotton enjoys its own catering, sport, library and leisure facilities. [http://www.marlboroughcollege.org/col_cotton_house.aspx]
