Karlskoga Nobel Art scholarship

In 1996 a Swedish artists by the name of Göran Persson created a portfolio of graphics describing Alfred Nobel's life in Karlskoga, Sweden. Proceeds from the sales of the portfolio was used as the initial fund for The Karlskoga Nobel Art Scholarship, an annual grant given to deserving artists in memory of the great Swedish inventor.

A project of the Municipality of Karlskoga, the scholarship is open to all active Swedish artists with preference given to those working in graphics. Founded in 1996, the first Karlskoga Nobel Art Scholarship award was given on December 10 of the same year. Hence, there have been 11 worthy recipients' of the grant to date, whose outstanding works were selected by a jury.

Göran Persson is the secretary of culture of the Municipality of Karlskoga, Sweden.
