In March 2007 Krohn Racing and Lola Racing Cars purchased a chassis design and Grand American Daytona Prototype Constructors Licence from Multimatic Motorsports, a racing car constructor. The company they created, Proto-Auto LLC, has built a new Daytona Prototype chassis, badged with a Lola nameplate, for the 2008 Grand-Am season. Krohn Racing competes in 2008 with two of the new cars with Pontiac engines. Proto-Auto also sells the DP car to competitors in the Grand-Am Series.
