S.P.E.C.T.R.E.

S.P.E.C.T.R.E. (Society for Paranormal Evidence & Conclusions Through Research & Examination) is a paranormal investigation group based in Northeast Pennsylvania.

History

Founded in 2005 by an anonymous journalist and medical professional, S.P.E.C.T.R.E. was initially formed in response to a newspaper story about local ghost hunters in Northeast Pennsylvania. [“L.V. GhostHunters offer Spectre of truth,” Merge magazine, Oct 19, 2005 by J.T. Chambers]

The two assembled a small team of skeptics, technology experts and mediums for the purpose of the news story. The group claims it was formed to assist others who are experiencing activity they believe to be paranormal, and perhaps troublesome.

S.P.E.C.T.R.E. frequently works with home owners and businesses that seek them out. During investigations, S.P.E.C.T.R.E. says it pursues hard evidence and operates by "trying to explain, replicate and debunk activity by using an extensive array of gadgets, and by relying on the investigative nature we acquired in our day jobs." Operations

S.P.E.C.T.R.E. conducts investigations throughout Pennsylvania, as well as in New Jersey and New York City. Beyond that first investigation, S.P.E.C.T.R.E. says it doesn’t utilize mediums. However, the group claims that some people are more tuned in to paranormal activity than others, and that "sensitivity is an important tool to be used as a guide on investigations." [“L.V. S.P.E.C.T.R.E. is a free, non-profit group that claims to offer assistance where needed. The teams prides itself on its discretion. They maintain client relationships established during investigations and publicize the fact that they are willing to sign a confidentiality agreement to prevent sharing client information, if needed.

S.P.E.C.T.R.E. is known for keeping the details of their investigations confidential.

Motto

The team motto for S.P.E.C.T.R.E. is "paranormal investigators for normal people."
