Light In The Attic Records is an independent record label based out of Seattle, Washington, known for its roster of reissue projects, and for its distribution catalog.

History

Light In The Attic started out as the brain-child of co-owner Matt Sullivan, whose plan was to release reissues while also cultivating the careers of new talent. The dot-com boom of the 90s helped fund his musical schemes.

Sullivan started out producing live shows for independent bands such as Interpol and Saul Williams; these events brought the label critical acclaim within Seattle. But the goal was always to be a record label first and a production company second; profits from concert production provided funds for the company to begin releasing music from signed artists.

Eventually, Light In The Attic won a reissue deal with pop-psych band The Free Design.
