- Francesco Marciuliano
Francesco Marciuliano is the current writer of "Sally Forth," a widely syndicated
comic strip (the current illustrator isCraig MacIntosh ). Marciuliano writes and draws the satiric web comic [http://www.medium-large.com Medium Large] . The strip originally ran from April 2004 to January 2007. After a long hiatus, the site was revamped and new strips began appearing each weekday on May 27, 2008. He also writes the blog/performance series [http://conversationswithdad.blogspot.com Conversations with Dad] and the blog [http://francescoexplainsitall.blogspot.com Francesco Explains It All] . He writes for the PBS television seriesSeemore's Playhouse , which won two 2007 Regional DaytimeEmmy Awards for an episode scripted by Marciuliano, along with being the cameraman for theSarah Palin parody v-logs starring his girlfriendSara Benincasa andDiana Saez .Marciuliano was hired to work on "Sally Forth" after strip creator Greg Howard retired from his writing duties. His work on the syndicated strip is in keeping with the strip's family-friendly and relatively traditional history. His other work is much more irreverent, edgy, and occasionally foul-mouthed, something that often comes as a surprise to those familiar with "Sally Forth." He is also an enthusiastic and well-received participant in online community discussions on "Sally Forth" in particular and comics in general, including
Gene Weingarten 's online chats at theWashington Post Web site, and in the comments section of theComics Curmudgeon blog.He was a featured panelist at Comicon New York 2007 at the Jacob Javits Center in Manhattan.
In 2007, he co-produced a monthly comedy variety show, the PIT Presents the Pendulum, at the People's Improv Theater (PIT) in Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood. He occasionally freelances as a script supervisor on independent and mainstream feature films.
