- Quadriga Consort
Ever since the award-winning Austrian early music ensemble Quadriga Consort was founded in 2001 by harpsichordist
Nikolaus Newerkla , it has made a name for itself, playing rearranged early British and Irish traditional music which defies being pigeonholed as either "classical" or"pop".Particularly since collaborating with South African-born jazz and pop singer Elisabeth Kaplan on Songs & Tunes from the Isles (CD “As I Walked Forth” released 2005 on the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation's label ORF-Edition Alte Musik, CD “By Yon Bonnie Banks”, ORF 2007), the Quadriga Consort has had numerous appearances at renowned festivals in Austria, throughout Europe and the US.
