The HelioCentury Project

The HelioCentury Project is a environmental-arts initiative that combines poetry and solar power.

Poetry (from the Greek "ποίησις", poiesis, a "making" or "creating") is a form of literary art in which language is used for its aesthetic and evocative qualities in addition to, or in lieu of, its apparent meaning. Poetry may be written independently, as discrete poems, or may occur in conjunction with other arts, as in poetic drama, hymns or lyrics.

Solar energy refers to the utilization of the radiant energy from the sun. Solar power is used interchangeably with solar energy, but refers more specifically to the conversion of sunlight into electricity by photovoltaics, concentrating solar thermal devices, or by an experimental technology such as a solar chimney or solar pond.

The HelioCentury Project combines both. Celebrities read poems, based mostly around helio themes.
