Mission

The Mosaic Project is an 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that preaches peace and understanding to young children. The goal of this program is to encourage a diversified future beginning with the youngest generations. [The Mosaic Project. 28 September 2008.http://www.mosaicproject.org/mission]

Curriculum

The Mosaic Project aims to achieve the goal of peace by various teaching methods, including kinesthetic learning. Students are taught self-respect and respect of others, as well as ethnic awareness. Outdoor School

The Outdoor School is a human-relations program for fourth and fifth grade students. During the duration of five days and four nights, students are exposed to diverse settings and experience integration firsthand. The school focuses on community and building self-esteem. The Mosaic Project Community

The Mosaic Project Community is made up of its year-round staff, board of directors, program staff, partner schools, and supporters of the Project. The year-round staff consists of the four individuals who oversee the stability and progression of the organization at all times. The Board of Director’s are various people of diverse professions that incorporate their knowledge to the Mosaic Project. The program staff is the number of individuals who contribute to the organization by educating the young students. The Mosaic Project has a litany of partner schools: day schools, community schools, art schools, and elementary schools, all of which take part in the education of Mosaic students. The supporter’s complete the Project’s community, as companies and members of society who have kept the Mosaic Project in existence. Children Songs for Peace and a Better World

The Children’s Songs for Peace and a Better World CD is a compilation of songs written and performed by members of the Mosaic Project. The CD features the artist Brett Dennen, a singer/songwriter and activist in other campaigns, including Burma: It Can’t Wait. Children’s Songs for Peace and a Better World is a lyrical equivalent of all the ideals and beliefs that the organization attempts to instill in their young students. It has received a Children’s Music Web 2004 Award as well as a Parent’s Choice 2004 Approved Award. Songs from the CD have been aired on the KFOG and KPFA radio stations.
