Solutions for Internet

Traffic Management

As Internet traffic evolves, networks have changed dramatically in regards to traffic volume and content complexity. “According to market forecasts, U.S. Internet traffic in 2015 will be 50 times greater than it was in 2006. This dramatic growth will require the U.S. Web-architecture market to invest more than $100 billion in bandwidth, storage and traffic management capabilities to keep pace with demand,” [ [http://www.discovery.org/a/4428 Estimating the Exaflood] ] ARA Networksprovides reliable and scalable solutions that help content providers, eCommerce sites, ISPs, CDNs, as well as enterprises manage today’s web traffic.

Solutions include the industry leading JAGUAR series of caching products for web acceleration and bandwidth optimization to the Traffic Sentinel series of products designed to inspect and manage Internet traffic for enterprise to carrier class customers.

JAGUAR Overview

ARA Networks’ JAGUAR series of web caching products provides the industry’s most scalable and powerful web caching product available in the market today. The JAGUAR OS is dedicated to caching operations resulting in gigabit performance. In addition, the operating system is based on the latest Linux platform making it compatible and efficient with a diverse array of drivers and system structures.

JAGUAR 5000

-32 GBs of physical memory and over 5 TBs of web object cache storage per appliance

-64 bit architecture

-1Gbit/s throughput

-Over 1 million concurrent connections

-Reverse or forward proxy cache mode

JAGUAR 3000

-4 GBs of physical memory and 500 GB of web object cache storage per appliance

-32 bit architecture

-1Gbit/s throughput

-192,000 concurrent connections

-Reverse or forward proxy cache mode

TRAFFIC SENTINEL Overview

The Traffic Sentinel (TS) series is a Layer 7, high throughput network traffic monitoring system. The TS is based on deep packet inspection (DPI) technology ensuring real time visibility into a network’s behavior. The TS products utilize a network tap that mirrors traffic and eliminates any potential disruption of service due to system failure. The TS series provides Internet service providers and enterprises the utmost control over their network’s traffic.

TS Traffic Monitor – Control and Inspect Your Network Traffic

As P2P applications and sites become increasingly popular, ISPs are faced with bandwidth challenges resulting in deteriorating quality of service to their end customers. The TS Traffic Monitor was specifically designed for broadband service providers, such as Telcos and ISPs, allowing the inspection of up to 10 Gbit/s of throughput. Features include:

Monitor traffic usage by source, destination, port and protocol

Create bandwidth reports by minute, hour, month and year

Policy based control of individual P2P applications

Analyze network traffic using sniffer plug-in

Create bandwidth threshold notification alerts

TS Application Security – Secure Your Enterprise’s Assets

Today, many companies face the threat of having confidential data pass through instant messaging systems, web based email, FTP and other web based applications. Conventional security products such as Firewalls are not capable of detecting and blocking protocols that use random ports and proxies. The TS Application Security will inspect up to 1 Gbit/s of throughput to detect and prevent any unauthorized web usage in real-time, enabling administrators to evaluate the effectiveness of security policies and prevent irreversible damage. Other benefits include:

Prevent sharing of proprietary or confidential data

Block non-business related Internet usage

Ensure content is shared only through approved channels (such as MS Exchange)

Real-time violation detection alerts

Robust traffic reporting and logging system
