- Blind witch
The Blind Witch is an Urban Legend, which originates from Early 17th Century England at the time when Witch Burnings were rife. The story goes that a healer, accused of being a witch, had, instead of the regular dunking, her eyes burnt out by a boiling hot metal bar- in order to prevent her from practicing anymore suspicious acts. After her punishment, she is meant to have reverted to true Witchcraft, cursing her punishers and all their family. It is said that she now haunts anyone related to the men and women who are descendants of her killers. She is supposedly based on the principal that if she cannot see you- you cannot see her. Her victims are the only ones who can visibly see the witch with their naked eye; she is said to look like a old crone, her back bent and a black, tattered shawl clutched around her twisted body. A dirty brown piece of cloth is tied around her eyes, hiding her injury. She kills the victims by first removing the strip of cloth- and then staring into their soul with her empty congealed sockets.Other versions of the Legend suggest that she has the ability to fly, and even pass through solid matter.
