Fabbrocino clan

Fabbrocino clan

The Fabbrocino clan is an Italian Camorra clan, based in the Vesuvius area, with its sphere of influence around Nola, San Giuseppe Vesuviano and San Gennaro Vesuviano.

History

Mario Fabbrocino, the clan's founder and boss is considered to be the real godfather of the Vesuvius area, and the first person protagonist of the 1980's war between the Nuova Famiglia which the Fabbricino clan belonged to, and its enemy Nuova Camorra Organizzata, led by Raffaele Cutolo.

The Fabbrocino clan participated in the municipal elections campaign in Nola by supporting various regional candidates who were then used for the smooth conducting of its business activities. During the period when Mario Fabbrocino was in prison, the clan was run by Bonavita. However, even since the boss has dissapeared in 2004, many clan members have also begun to clear their tracks. On August 14, 2005, the town boss was finally placed under arrest on charges of double murder. The convictions were upheld in 2006.

The new boss is another Mario Fabbrocino aka "Maruzzo", cousin, brother-in-law and namesake of the old boss.
