- John J. Graham
John J. Graham (1923-1994) is the designer and creator of the
NBC peacock logo , and the NBC "snake" logo.He was born in
New York City ,September 25 ,1923 . In NYC, he attended the School of Industrial Arts (now The High School of Art & Design) and later, studied under ArtistJack Levine .At NBC, in the early 1950s, John Graham as Art Director hired a young
Andy Warhol to do some of his first commercial works.In 1966, NBC President
Julian Goodman appointed Graham Director of Design for the entire network.Graham retired from NBC in 1977. He died in 1994, aged 70.
Survived by his three children; Bruce Graham, Maggie Zackheim and Ben Zackheim
