Daniel E. LaCloche AKA 'Sire Joli Pantalon' (1970 La Crau, France Currently Madison, WI) is a French American Motionographer who's spent much of his life creating visually challenging animation, short films, and textured splatter painting. LaCloche is perhaps best known in the field for co-establishing, along with another artist, Mark Anderson, Columbia College Chicago's Motion Graphics concentration. Together, they influenced young artists and set the college on a path towards the future of computer based elucidation along with a plethora of other industrialized accomplishments of the time.

LaCloche has a son named Ben. He is married to Maleah Moskoff.

LaCloche studied Television Production and Motion Graphics in Chicago and, before the establishment of Splatter Painting Uni, was a member of the Board of Directors of an underground visual and audio artist guild in Mozambique.

As a first generation descendant from France, LaCloche spent his childhood living in La Crau while making trips to Mozambique to visit his Swahili speaking grandfather, Kubwababa Pantalon. Pantalon was a craftsman, a painter and a musician to which LaCloche was very close too but sadly when LaCloche was 14-years-old, he lost his grandfather to an elephant attack and shortly thereafter LaCloche and his family sold both properties in France, and Mozambique, and moved to the Madison, Wisconsin. LaCloche spent four long and troubling years trying to fit into a new world of English and the fast pace North American life. He was enrolled in high school where he kept to himself carrying on his grandfathers talent in painting, but also taking up a new brush, the digital brush of animation. Since his graduation in 1989, the evolution of computer graphics inspired him to work continuously to further the techniques and technology of intuition of motionography.

Creator of a short film on the over-pace of daily American life, LaCloche was recipient of the First Place, Independent Film and Video award for his work in "Rush Hour" in November 2002, Third Place Independent Film and Video award for "Clown" in January 2004, and has become a noteworthy advocate, with the help of The Daily Page, on the strife of affordable housing for the working middle class.

He was the founder and first president of Motion Unlimited, co-founder and vice-president of Mark Anderson's Lunch Club, scrupulous advisor for long term planning to numerous concerns in the development of Columbia College's Staffer Union, and President of Joli Pantalon Club For Men International.

Dan likes deep sea diving, and playing the popular kids board game Trouble.
