Blackmail records ----
History
Blackmail records is a British hip hop and rap record label biased in the north west of England. The label was founded around may 2008 by north west rappers Mathew "jaeswift baker and Greg "Effektiv" Davidson the two began with a simple idea to gather all good artists from the north west to a record label the idea was an instant success firstly they signed Brecon "Shadow" Harrison to there label the group of three began relic sing solo Mix tapes and albums like jaeswift "My cider mixtape" Effective’s "very Effektiv" (which was his debut) also shadow had realised the "in the booth EP" around that time. The group of three have dramatically expanded signing many more artists and spreading there name across the UK.

Signing Shadow
Brecon "Shadow" Harrison was the first rapper to be signed to blackmail. Harrison realised his debut album and swift was soon to sign him after hearing his tracks. Shadow later realised the "in the booth lp" containing three tracks one of which was a cover of Obie Trice’s track don’t come down since he has been signed he has been constantly at work writing lyrics
Signing frenzy
Jacob "Frenzy Forkin was the next to be signed to the label he was along term friend of Davidson but numerous fall outs had stopped them talking around the time when blackmail had begun. Shortly after Davidson was signed to blackmail the two spoke for the first time in half a year and decided to make a track on which Forkin would debut. The track itself was entitled "Say what you want" which did very well in the sound click charts reaching a respectable position at this time Forkin and Baker were not on speaking terms after a disagreement over the name Jae as both rappers claimed to have used it for a long time Forkin soon stopped calling himself Jae and Baker and Forkin started talking soon after Forkin realised the first mixtape entitled "The Work in progress mixtape" which got him signed to the label. Forkin was previously signed to the label doom Squad along with fellow rappers Enzyme and Dioxide but he soon deserted as they quickly disagreed with each other Signing Lil Frenzy
A few months after Frenzy was signed under Blackmail he realised a solo track with his eleven year old brother who appeared on the second verse. The track however was overlooked and Lil Frenzy was not considered Signed to blackmail records but a number of weeks after the eleven year old wrote a song and recorded it reached a good position on the sound click charts. Jaeswift soon herd the track and was astounded by how much the rapper had improved at first Swift thought that he had not wrote it himself. this rumour was quickly disprove as Frenzy had not been around when his brother had wrote and recorded the track and came as a complete shock to him also. Lil Frenzy was then snapped up by Jaeswift as he saw potential in him and wanted to watch Lil Frenzy become better with experience
Signing Mc West
After a fall out between Jaeswift and Effektiv took place. Jaeswift signed former Mc, Mc West to Blackmail he claimed that Mc west could take Blackmail in a new direction. Soon after being signed Mc West made his first track which was a demo entitled "i know you hate me" which was put on Bebo for people with an account to make a video on there homepage mc West has plans to realise an album but so far no dates are certified
JCS
The next to be signed to blackmail was JCS (just cant stop) he is an influential grime artist which makes him not only the first Grime artist in blackmail but the first who doesn’t come from the North west of England ----
Disputes
Blackmail records have been involved in a number of disputes. The first was against rival record label violent records. The dispute was very sort lived after Frenzy realised a diss track it was all over. The next Dispute was against Markiboi. Markiboi had unprovoked dissed Blackmail soon after Effektiv wrote a diss back and the feud continued until Markiboi dissed Lil frenzy and Frenzy made a diss track. since then he is yet to reply

Side project
Very shortly after frenzy was signed Effektiv and Frenzy decided to create the rap duo Side project, the group had planned to realise an album but the idea was short lived. It is expected they plan to realise an album but as of yet no such actions have been commented on
