Acetone was a southern California based alternative rock band with surf and country influences. The band consisted of Richie Lee (bass guitar and most lead vocals), Mark Lightcap (guitar and vocals) and Steve Hadley (drums). The band signed to Vernon Yard, a subsidiary of Virgin Records, and toured nationally with The Verve. Acetone released five records between 1993-2000. Their rise towards popularity was cut short by the suicide of Richie Lee on July 23 2001.
