When Al and Peggy are about to go to dinner with the Rhoades, Kelly runs to go out with her "boyfriend" Roger. Al stops her and demands to meet the guy so he walks outside with Steve. As the women wait inside, the guys return after an hour and inform them that they just bought Roger's car: A 1965 Ford Mustang. As the women reprimand them for purchasing something without their consent, they argue that the car is totally damaged and they will restore it.
In the meantime, Al and Steve spend more time together fixing the car, much to the dismay of their wives that are then left alone without going out. While talking, Marcy reveals Peggy that she never had sex in the backseat of a car. During their time together, both Al and Steve fantasize, in very different ways, of how they'll use the car once it's fixed. Later that night, Steve and Marcy end up doing it in the car.
Once the car is finished, the four plan to go out in it. However, they return with Al beaten up, and we learn that the car was stolen and the police impounded it. As Steve, Peggy, and Marcy resign and go out to dinner, Al is left alone miserable.
