Mahmud Abu Bekir Taib

Haji Mahmud who is Group Deputy Chairman of Cahya Mata Sarawak Berhad (“CMS”) was appointed to the Board of UBG Berhad on 3 August 2006 as a nominee of CMS. He was re-designated as Chairman on 1 January 2008.

Having pursued his tertiary education in USA and Canada, Haji Mahmud has extensive experience in the stock-broking and corporate sectors. He was the founding member of Sarawak Securities Sdn Bhd, Sarawak’s first stock-broking company which is now merged with Kenanga Investment Bank Berhad (formerly known as K&N Kenanga Berhad).
