Port Fouad

Port Fouad ( _ar. بور فؤاد ; Būr Fu’ād) is a city in Egypt, located across the Suez Canal from Port Said. It forms the northwesternmost part of Sinai Peninsula. It was founded in 1927, principally to relieve overcrowding in Port Said, and was named after Fuad I, the first King of Egypt in the modern era. As of 2003, it has a population of 560,000.

Port fouad is an island that is triangular in shape. The mediterranian from the north and Suez Canal from the west and the relatively new junction between Suez Canal and the Mediterranian from the east.

Suez Canal Authority and employee form the main employment and habitants of the city. It also has one general hospital.

Together with Port Said they form a metropolitan area.
