Frederick Edwin Le Grice

The Very Reverend (Frederick) Edwin [ [http://www.legrice.net/phpGedView/individual.php?pid=I483&ged=legrice.ged Always known as Edwin] ] Le Grice was an eminent Anglican priest in the latter part of the 20th century. He was born on 14 December 1911 and educated at Queens' College, Cambridge [“Who was Who”1897-1990 London, A & C Black, 1991 ISBN 071363457X] .Ordained in 1936 he began his career with curacies in Leeds and Paignton [During which time he wrote “The story of the parish church of St.John Baptist, Paignton” (Published 1946)] . Subsequently Vicar of Totteridge [Crockford's clerical directory Lambeth, Church House, 1976 ISBN 0108153674] he was then appointed a Canon Residentiary of St Albans Cathedral, a post he held until his appointment as Dean of Ripon in 1968 [The Times, Thursday, Dec 28, 1967; pg. 8; Issue 57134; col A "New Dean of Ripon"] . He retired after 16 years in post and died on 25 June 1992.
